Sprint released a small security update for the Samsung Conquer 4G

Sprint released a small security update for the Samsung Conquer 4G. As far as I’ve understood, when Sprint says “security update” it means CarrierIQ integration is removed from the device. However, there are apparently also some other changes included, with several live wallpapers (Magic, Smoke, Many, Maps, Nexus, Spectrum, Water and Waveform) don’t appearing after the update. Guess you can get wallpapers from a number of websites so that’s not a big concern. On the other hand, I guess you do want to remove CarrierIQ at all costs I know I don’t like being tracked especially if I didn’t give a company permission to do so.

So if you see the update, push the button; if it’s still not there, don’t worry these updates are usually rolled out in stages and you’ll get it in the next couple of days. Make sure your phone is fully charged and that your key information is backed up somewhere.
