Coming weeks:Nokia TV service launching in Finland

Nokia is about to launch its own TV service in Finland, using its backyard as the testbed for the new offering. Touted to create a “free signature hub experience for catch-up TV services,” Nokia TV will be introduced to the Lumia users in the coming weeks, allowing them to browse or search through the available catalogues of catch-up TV services from major local broadcasters and then stream a chosen show directly to their phone. Best of all, sign up and/or registration won’t bre required with the Finnish company relying on the broadcasters’ existing internet TV business models (and user base).

About Nokia TV:According to the “official blog post” at Nokia Conversations, Finland is the ideal country in which to introduce this service due to its “advanced mobile user base and great existing broadcaster catch up TV services.” The same article failed to mention when will Nokia TV be available in other countries throughout Europe. Guess they wait to see how the initial trial goes and then decide on expending it elsewhere.
